In 1999, Daryl and Frank were cast in the musical, Man of La Mancha directed by the talented Kent Johnson. Frank was Don Quixote, the windmill fighting idealist and Daryl was Sancho Panza, his faithful companion. They didn’t know one another prior to this show, but their chemistry onstage was undeniable. As a result of this collaboration, their lifetime friendship began.
In 2012 they teamed up once again as another famous theatrical duo, this time as husband and wife! Frank and Daryl, portrayed respectively, Edna and Wilbur Turnblad, the proud parents of their social justice enlightened daughter, Tracy. This was the hit musical, Hairspray, directed by the talented Ray Limon.
Flash forward to 2021. Frank and wife Donna Marie joined Daryl and his sweetheart Jackie for a couple’s weekend in Santa Clarita, Calif. Daryl asked Frank if he would be interested in working on a play from an idea Daryl had been kicking around and Frank gave a resounding “YES!” The two friends embarked on a writing journey of many edits and versions and finally finished, “The Jewtalian.” It is their sincere hope you, your family, and friends will enjoy the fruits of their efforts!
